Agility and Hoopers

Learning Agility or Hoopers with your dog is not just a fun and exciting way to bond. They also offer a wide range of benefits for both you and your pup.

Agility involves working as a true partnership negotiating an obstacle course that includes jumps, tunnels, weave poles, and more. It’s like a fast-paced game you play together—and most dogs love it.

Hoopers is similar as your dog navigates a course of hoops, barrels and tunnels under your direction with the same pace and excitement as agility. The main difference is that Hoopers is low impact and doesn’t involve any jumping. The courses are flowing and don't involve tight turns. Consequently it’s suitable for the majority of dogs irrespective of age, breed and stamina.

The fun:

Both activities are mentally stimulating and physically engaging, making them an excellent outlet for energy. They tap into your dog’s natural instincts to run, jump, and follow your lead. It’s incredibly rewarding to work together to master new skills and work as a team.

The benefits:

  • Physical exercise: these activities keep dogs fit, healthy, and agile (no pun intended).

  • Mental stimulation: learning the course and following your commands challenges your dog’s brain.

  • Improved obedience: they strengthen focus, recall, and impulse control.

  • Stronger bond: working together builds trust and deepens your connection.

  • Confidence booster: nervous or shy dogs often become more confident through these activities.

Both activities are a joyful, enriching experience. They strengthen the bond between you and your dog while keeping both of you active and engaged. Many clients say these activities are the most fun they have with their dog.
